Jack Ma, one of China's richest men, became a professor in Japan

Jack Ma, one of China's richest men, has started a new job, teaching at a university.

The co-founder of the e-commerce company Alibaba has accepted an offer to work as a professor at Tokyo College under the University of Tokyo.

Jack Ma will work with researchers, serve as a college advisor, and attend conferences.

He will also research agriculture and food production topics with university staff.

Jack Ma is worth $33 billion and has been out of the public eye for a long time.

In October 2020, he criticized China's banking regulators after authorities blocked his Aunt Group's proposed $37 billion IPO.

After that, Jack Ma stayed out of China for a long time, and a few weeks ago, his photo in Beijing was released for the first time.

Before taking up the teaching job, Jack Ma spent a lot of time in Japan and relinquished control of the Ant Group in January this year.
