First confirmed case report of monkeypox in Punjab
Lahore: The first confirmed case of monkeypox has been reported in Punjab.The data has been received by the Monkeypox Disease Warning Center which has released the details of the patient on its dashboard.
According to the details, the 41-year-old patient belongs to Mandi Bahauddin. The patient came from Saudi Arabia on April 17. On April 20, the National Institute of Health confirmed monkeypox in the patient. The National Institute of Health says that the patient has been isolated.
Caretaker Health Minister Punjab Dr. Javed Akram while talking to Geo News said that so far more than 2 dozen suspected cases of monkeypox have been reported, and monkeypox is being reported among travelers coming from Saudi Arabia.
According to Dr. Javed Akram, doctors and paramedics are not aware of monkeypox, they are being trained, rescue personnel is also being trained, and monkeypox patients will be taken to the hospital with the help of rescue.
